TAWA Asking Public to Vote on the Best Things in Wellington

TAWA - surprisingly made of win

For the fifth year in a row, The Annual Wellingtonista Awards (TAWAs) are asking the public to vote for the very best things in Wellington. What’s the best BYO restaurant for a crowd? What would motivate you to visit the suburbs? Who’s the best hospitality worker? The Wellingtonista blog is asking people to tell us what Wellington needs the most (donuts or real-time bus information?), and say what they miss the most (Cuba Street Carnival or Offbeat Originials?) - amongst the total of 18 categories. Voting is now open on www.wellingtonista.com until the first of December, and the awards will be presented in a ceremony at Mighty Mighty on December 3, from 6.30pm.

Wellingtonista editor Joanna McLeod is, as always, excited about this year’s awards. “We’ve run these for five years now, and every year they’ve got bigger and better. We love that on the night all the people who make Wellington so awesome get together in one room, and we can pay tribute to them all”.

As well as making sure they vote, the public are encouraged to come along to the awards night voting. “Mighty Mighty knows how to host a great party. We’ll present the TAWAs, so you can cheer for your favourites, there’s going to be The Amazing Traveling Photobooth to capture the night, afterward there’ll be some great DJs, and we also have a metric buttload of spot prizes to give away from lots of the nominees. It’s going to be the best night ever, and you’d be a crazy fool to miss it.” says Joanna.

Vote now! Democracy needs you! www.wellingtonista.com
