Hell Wellington Firebirds squad to play Aces and Knights in HRV matches

The Hell Wellington Firebirds squad to play the Auckland Aces and the Northern Knights in the HRV Cup on Sunday 19 December and Tuesday 21 December is:

Brett Lee
Andy McKay
Chris Nevin

Michael Pollard*
Stewart Rhodes
Jesse Ryder
Luke Woodcock
Luke Wright

*Michael Pollard returns to the Hell Firebirds squad pending a fitness test on his injured shoulder on Saturday morning. If Pollard is unavailable, Harry Boam will join the team.

Luke Wright and Andy McKay both join the Hell Wellington Firebirds squad for these two games.

Wright has passed a fitness test on his previously infected leg after missing the three matches against the Central Stags in Nelson and the Knights and Aces at the Basin Reserve.

Pollard returns from a shoulder injury that he sustained while playing against the Knights.

McKay joins the side for the first time this season after being involved in the BLACKCAPS Test and One-Day series in India.

Neal Parlane has a hamstring injury, sustained against the Aces on Tuesday, and won’t travel with the squad for these two matches.

Mark Houghton and Andrew Lamb drop out of the squad.

Grant Elliott takes over the captaincy from Jeetan Patel.
