Wellington Police growing concerned for missing 50 year old Malcolm Freeman

Wellington Police are growing concerned for 50 year-old Malcolm Freeman, last seen over a week ago.

Mr Freeman is a resident of Mash Community House in Hobart Street, Miramar and has not been seen since around 7:30am on Sunday 16 January 2011.

Detective Sergeant Fleur De Bes of the Wellington City CIB says Mr Freeman is a mental health client who requires regular medication. It is unlikely Mr Freeman will have any medication in his possession, given the length of time he has been missing.

"Police spent the weekend delivering flyers in and around the Eastern Suburbs and in the central city, in the hope that someone may have recognised Mr Freeman and may know his whereabouts."

Fleur De Bes says Police will continue making inquiries but is keen to hear from anyone who may have any information.

He is described as a European, around five foot 10 of medium build, with grey hair, slightly balding on top and a full beard and moustache, coloured black/grey. He was last seen wearing a blue and grey ski hat with plaited ties, jeans and boots.

Malcolm Freeman often visits the botanical gardens and regularly attends church services around the city.

Anyone with any information should phone Wellington Police as soon as possible on (04) 381 2000 or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
