Body Found on Auckland Cycle Track

Body Found on Auckland Cycle Track

At around 1.00am this morning, the Police and Ambulance services were alerted to the body of a male lying on the cycle track between the bottom of New Bond Street and where Bond Street passes over the North Western motorway.

The Ambulance staff attending were unable to save the man, who died at the scene. The male is described as Caucasian, in his mid to late 30s, and has not been formally identify by Police.

In the interim, until the circumstances of his death and the cause of death are determined, Police are treating the matter as suspicious. Police will have cordons in place on Bond Street between Seddon Street and Nixon park, so Bond Street will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic until a scene examination has been conducted.

Police are requesting that anyone who was in that area prior to that time, and saw anything suspicious, call the Auckland Central Police on 3026400.
