Free Auckland Anniversary Weekend Harbour Tours Fully Booked
Ports of Auckland Free Anniversary Weekend Harbour Tours Fully Booked
Free guided boat tours being hosted by Ports of Auckland this Auckland Anniversary Weekend have proven so popular that they are now fully booked.
Putting the ‘full’ sign up will disappoint some people who had hoped to join the tours, but is a great reflection of the huge interest shown by Aucklanders in their port, Ports of Auckland Chief Executive Jens Madsen said today.
The hour-long tours of the Port and inner harbour aboard historic steam tug the William C. Daldy are scheduled to run on both Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 January at 10am, 12pm and 2pm departing from the northern end of Princes Wharf.
“The combination of the port tours and the historic William C. Daldy continues to grow in popularity and it is great to offer this initiative to the city,” Mr Madsen said
For those who have missed out on the free Port tours this Anniversary Weekend but are still keen to be a part of the action there is the opportunity to purchase tickets on the William C. Daldy for the Annual Tug Race on Monday 31 January.
“The William C. Daldy is run by the generous time of volunteers and any support that the people of Auckland can give her is greatly appreciated.”
The William C. Daldy will be participating in the Tug Parade from 9am on Monday 31 January and will then take her place as the grand dame of the Annual Tug Race. Tickets cost: Adults $80, Children $40 or Family (2 Adults, 2 Children) $210, lunch included.
