Che Fu brings the beats to Auckland Zoo

Auckland Zoo is pleased to welcome back Che Fu – one of New Zealand’s most successful male vocalists – to Wild Bean Cafe Zoo Music on Saturday, 12 February from 6pm.

One of the founding members of Supergroove, Che Fu has also gone on to record songs with some of the country’s most influential artists.

Che Fu will be joined by his band The Kratez, the charismatic Young Sid, and the street soul sounds of Wellington songstress Iva Lamkum at this ‘concert for conservation’.

Revenue from the concert will go back into supporting the Zoo’s on-site and in the wild conservation work, both here in New Zealand and overseas, says Auckland Zoo conservation officer Peter Fraser.

“The audience need to know that just by coming along to a Zoo Music concert, they are directly helping wildlife.

“The Zoo funds Wildlife Protection Units in Sumatran rainforests for species such as elephants, orangutans, rhinos, tigers and siamang gibbons.

“And we are part of an international breed and release programme for red panda, where one of our red pandas now lives at Darjeeling Zoo in the hope that her offspring will be released into the wild.

“We’re all about building a future for wildlife, and these concerts go a long way in helping us to do that,” says Mr Fraser.

A great day and night out – a Zoo Music ticket is also entry to the Zoo on concert day, so music lovers can come early and re-connect with the Zoo at their leisure.

Wild Bean Cafe Zoo Music 2011 is supported by The Radio Network, Juice TV, iSite Media, Brancott Estate, DB Breweries and The Quadrant Hotel Auckland. Tickets are available from Ticketek.
