A ruptured gas main is causing significant traffic disruption at the Mill Road intersection with SH16, east of Helensville.

Access to and from Parakai has been cut off completely and people travelling to and from Helensville will need to use secondary roads to the south and east. Wishart, Old North and Kiwitahi Roads are all open.

At present contractors are concentrating on securing the leak. It is not known how long the closures and diversions will be required.
