TravelSIM now available in AA centres nationwide

TravelSIM, a prepaid SIM card that works globally from your existing mobile phone, has signed up its first national retailer and is now available in 37 New Zealand Automobile Association (AA) centres nationwide.

TravelSIM offers overseas roaming charges to their customers at about a quarter of the price of current rates via its global roaming network of 350 carriers. TravelSIM, which launched in New Zealand earlier this month, has coverage in 190 countries around the world.

James Currah, chief executive of TravelSIM New Zealand, says with retail coverage in all major cities and towns around New Zealand, TravelSIM’s availability in AA centres means the product is now even more accessible to Kiwis heading overseas.

“TravelSIM is also available online and via our 0800 number; however we charge a $9.95 postage and handling fee for online and phone orders, so by purchasing from AA centres customers can save on this cost.

AA Retail and Tourism Product Manager, Kirsty Vincent, says she is pleased to be able to provide AA customers with another option when it comes to telecommunications while travelling overseas.

“The AA processes over 38,000 international driving permits each year and TravelSIM is one more product that we can offer our members and customers who are planning to travel abroad,” says Ms Vincent.
