Remembrance book for Sir Paul Reeves

Wellingtonians are invited to pay their respects to the late Sir Paul Reeves at the wharewaka - Te Raukura on the waterfront.

Wellington Mayor Celia Wade-Brown and Chair of the Port Nicholson Block Settlement Trust Sir Ngatata Love will open the Remembrance book today, Tuesday 16 August at 2.30pm.

The book will remain open at the wharewaka Te Raukura until the evening of Thursday 18 August, the date coinciding with the state funeral for Sir Paul to be held in Auckland.

The book will be available for all people to sign and offer their messages during the wharewaka’s opening hours (Tuesday and Wednesday 7am – 4pm; Thursday 7am – late)

Sir Paul, New Zealand’s first Maori Governor General, was born in Wellington in 1932 and attended Wellington College and Victoria University of Wellington.
