Estimated 100,000 people salute All Blacks in Wellington

Estimated 100,000 people salute the All Blacks in Wellington today

Wellington City Council estimates around 100,000 people crowded in to the CBD to salute the All Blacks today.

The City Council's Rugby World Cup 2011 and City Events Director, Derek Fry, said a "huge" crowd gathered in Parliament grounds more than an hour before the parade arrived and that, combined with the fans along the Golden Mile and in Civic Square, meant the estimated overall crowd size was around or over 100,000. He added that most observers agreed it appeared a bigger gathering than for the America's Cup victory parade in 1995.
