Wellington Police are seeking witnesses to a crash in Mount Victoria, which occurred last night.

The crash, between a bus and a white van, occurred just before 8:15pm last night on Pirie Street, between Brougham Street and the tunnel.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the crash and anyone who saw a white Mitsubishi van with catering company signage in the vicinity prior to the crash and did not speak to Police at the scene last night.

The driver of the van, a 47 year old male, sustained injuries as a result of the crash and remains in Wellington Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Anyone with any information should contact Sergeant Simon Paterson at the Wellington Central Police Station on (04) 381 2000 or via email (SP5657@police.govt.nz).
