Time running out to have a say on Auckland’s transport future

Public submissions on Auckland’s Regional Land Transport Programme (RLTP) close at 4pm this Friday (March 23).
The draft programme has been prepared by Auckland Transport and sets out proposed transport activities for the next three years. It will be used to prioritise applications for government funding through the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA).
Approximately 300 submissions have so far been received. Key themes include the City Rail Link, public transport, another Waitemata Harbour crossing and a rail service to the airport.

Also closing this Friday is feedback on Auckland Council’s discussion document on alternative funding for transport - Getting Auckland Moving, which asks for the public’s opinions on options for plugging the funding gap and building the transport infrastructure Auckland needs.

Mayor Len Brown encourages people to have their say “We need your feedback on the projects we focus on during the next decade and on how we fund them. This is a very important moment for Auckland as we work to create the world's most liveable city. We need your thoughts on how we best achieve that."
