Aucklanders have their say on the region’s transport future
A late rush has seen close to 700 public submissions on Auckland’s Regional Land Transport Programme (RLTP).
The draft programme has been prepared by Auckland Transport and sets out proposed transport activities for the next three years. It will be used to prioritise applications for government funding through the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA).
Just under 700 submissions have been received covering 3000 submission points. Key themes include the City Rail Link, public transport, another Waitemata Harbour crossing and a rail service to the airport.
Hearings for submitters who have indicated they wish to present their views on Auckland’s transport future will be held in mid-April.
The final Regional Land Transport Programme for Auckland will be released in June 2012.
