Anzac Day Parades Planned Around the Coromandel

ANZAC DAY PARADES PLANNED AROUND THE COROMANDEL

Remembrance services and parades will be held throughout the Coromandel this ANZAC Day, Thursday 25 April, and all are welcome to attend at the following locations:

Coromandel: 10.15am Civic Parade - from Coromandel Citizens Hall, Kapanga Road, Coromandel, followed by service at the Memorial Reserve, 355 Kapanga Road, Coromandel.

Tapu: 5.45am Dawn Parade - from Tapu Fire Station to Cenotaph, Tapu Hall, followed by service. Breakfast provided afterwards at Tapu Fire Station.

Thames: 5.45am Dawn Parade - from cnr Sealey and Pollen Streets, Thames 9.45am Civic Parade - from cnr Sealey and Pollen Streets, Thames, followed by service, Thames War Memorial Civic Centre Cenotaph, Mary Street, Thames.

Pauanui: 5.45am Dawn Service - Pauanui Surf Lifesaving Club, Pauanui Boulevard, Pauanui (Pauanui Sports and Recreation Club if wet). At 11.00am a Civic Service to be held at Pauanui Sports and Recreation Club, Sheppard Avenue, Pauanui.

Tairua: 6.00am Dawn Service - Tairua Ex-Servicemen's Cemetery, Main Road, Tairua. At 10.50am a Civic Parade and march for uniformed personnel/RSA goes from Tairua Fire Station, Main Road, Tairua, followed by 11.00am Civic service at Tairua Community Hall, Main Road, Tairua.

Whangamata: 10.20am Civic Parade - from Council offices, Port Road Whangamata, followed by 11.00am Civic service at Whangamata War Memorial Hall, Port Road, Whangamata.

Whitianga: 5.45am Dawn Parade - from Mercury Bay Club carpark, Cook Drive, Whitianga, followed by service at Soldiers' Memorial Park, Whitianga. Breakfast at Mercury Bay Club to follow service.

DESCENDANTS OF RETURNED SERVICE PERSONELL WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE IN PARADES

Descendants of returned service personnel are welcome to participate in the parades.

Returned service personnel are asked to wear their medals and decorations.


Descendants of returned service personnel marching in the parades are asked to wear medals on the right upper portion of their apparel.
