Gay.co.nz Seeds New Zealand

WELLINGTON, NEW ZEALAND – gay.co.nz announced the launch today of a major upgrade to New Zealand’s largest gay personals website and new mobile application called “Seed”.

More than 2 years in design and development, the new platform provides a seamless integrated experience across web and mobile devices.  Offering location based searching, integrated messaging and a huge array of functionality, it makes networking as simple as browse, message, chat and meet.

The meteoric rise of mobile applications continues to drive the high expectations of LGBT New Zealander’s and we are thrilled to be able to offer this world class platform first” said David Ward, Managing Director of The Domain Name Company, which operates gay.co.nz.

The platform has initially been launched in New Zealand, and will be rolled out to other countries over the coming months.

The website and mobile apps are available now, via Google Play and Apple’s App Store or the gay.co.nz website.

First launched as a portal in 1997, gay.co.nz expanded to become New Zealand’s first dedicated gay personals site in 2003 and by 2006 was attracting more than 300,000 hits each day.  It has been a vocal supporter of Gay Marriage in New Zealand, as well as offering a wide range of support and sponsorship to non-profit and charitable endeavours among New Zealand’s LGBT community.
