New Skechers flagship store opening in St Lukes

Skechers is celebrating 21 years in New Zealand by opening the doors to its first concept retail store in Westfield St Lukes, later this month.

Opening on 22 November, the Auckland St Lukes store will be home to the entire Skechers range available to Kiwis, which includes more than 350 styles of men’s, women’s and children’s performance, lifestyle and casual dress shoes.

Brian Maginness, General Manager of Skechers New Zealand, is thrilled about the new retail concept store and explains, “In New Zealand Skechers continues to grow and thrive as a beloved lifestyle brand and we’re celebrating by welcoming customers into a fully-fitted home for the shoes they love.”

Skechers designs, creates and markets a diverse range of sport and casual footwear for trend-savvy men, women and children at reasonable prices.

“Opening a store locally has been a long time coming. We’ve seen the success of its 21 Skechers stores in Australia; now we’re getting excited about this next chapter in the brand’s development within NZ,” Brian Maginness says.

Skechers were first introduced to New Zealand and Australia in 1992 by the Accent Group, which is celebrating its own 25 year anniversary this year. Originally established in New Zealand, the Accent Group was the first international distributor of Skechers.

Skechers is recognised internationally through its domestic distribution channels and regular celebrity endorsements from the likes of Brooke Burke and Olympic Athlete Meb Keflezighi.
