Emergency services attending incident at Mail
Centre
Police and other emergency services are
attending an incident at the Christchurch Mail Centre on
Orchard Road, after a white powder substance was found in an
envelope.
Part of the mail sorting centre has been
isolated and around 80 staff evacuated from that part of the
complex as a precaution until the substance has been
identified.
Police and other agencies are now working to
identify the substance.
Police were alerted to the
incident shortly after
12.30pm.
