Plan for weekend lane closures on Auckland Harbour Bridge

21 October 2014 | NZ Transport Agency - Auckland

Plan for weekend lane closures on Auckland Harbour Bridge

The NZ Transport Agency says the two lanes on the northbound box girder extension, or clip-on, of the Auckland Harbour Bridge will be closed for four hours this Sunday morning (26 October).

The lanes will be closed between the Curran Street on-ramp and the Stafford Road off-ramp from 6am until 10am.

Six other lanes on the bridge will remain open during the closure – two northbound and four southbound.

While traffic is expected to be light at this time of day, the Transport Agency still advises people heading to the North Shore and beyond to allow a little more time for their journeys.

The lanes are being closed for filming. If the weather is bad, the closure will be transferred to the next day (Monday 27 October – Labour Day).

The Transport Agency says next month some lanes of the bridge will be closed again for the annual Auckland Marathon (Sunday 2 November) and for a “Bike The Bridge” event (Sunday 16 November). ENDS
