Fatal house fire in Linwood area of Christchurch

Police and emergency services are currently at the scene of a house fire on Woodhouse St which is reported to have started shortly before 2.15pm this afternoon (20 November 2014).

The Fire Service are still working to damp down the fire and the priority is to make the scene safe. At this stage there is one person confirmed as deceased at the scene.

Police advise the public that Woodhouse St will remain closed between Tancred St and Gloucester St this afternoon and possibly into the evening.

Police investigations are continuing.
