Closing doors for customer service

Council offices at Fitzherbert St and Te Puia Springs customer services centre will no longer be opening at the usual time on Wednesdays.

Beginning this Wednesday 26 November, customer service staff will be undertaking ongoing training for one hour each week which means both offices will be open at the later time of 9am.

“We are committing to continually improving our team and customer service operations,” says chief executive Judy Campbell.

“Allocating a set time weekly, will ensure all team members can develop skills and procedures to improve the experience for the customer without having to juggle enquiries at the same time or rotate staff through the same training schedule.”

Te Puia Springs customer service staff will participate in the same training and meetings via council’s new communications technology.

“We are transforming the way we work to perform better as a council, the upgraded communications system allows for online audio video and desktop interaction with file sharing in real-time,” says Ms Campbell.

“For the first time our Te Puia staff can be remotely linked into the same resources at the same time, and will benefit by being more connected with their Gisborne based colleagues.”

Council want the public to be aware, walk in enquiries, deliveries or payments will be available from 9am – 5pm every Wednesday, and 8am – 5pm on all other weekdays at the Fitzherbert Street office.

Te Puia Spring Service Centre hours are 830am – 430pm weekdays except for Wednesdays which will be 9am – 430pm.
