unveiled next Monday.
As part of the Waka Walls Project, young people aged between 12 and 24-years-old were invited to submit artwork to be printed and fixed temporarily to one of the 10 walls measuring over two metres high.
The project is a collaboration between Horowhenua District Council, Horowhenua Youth Voice and Te Takere’s Contact Youth Space, and funded by the Ministry of Youth Development.
It attracted 51 design submissions from 49 young people throughout the district.
The selection committee was made up of arts and youth representatives, including Horowhenua Arts Society vice-president Dorothy Burt, who said she was highly impressed by the quality of the work.
"The project will transform the waka walls outside Te Takere into a vibrant exhibition - an outdoor gallery showcasing local youth talent," she said.
The waka walls artwork will be unveiled at 4pm next Monday, to coincide with Youth Week which runs from 23 to 31 May.
