Incident at school an accident


Police are treating an incident at a Hawke’s Bay primary school today where a pupil was injured as an accident.

Emergency services were called to Taradale Primary School at 1.15pm today after a pupil was found unconscious and having difficulty breathing.

Police have confirmed that the incident that resulted in the boy’s injuries was accidental. Specific details of what happened will not be released until the police investigation is completed.

The nine-year-old boy is currently in an induced coma and is being flown to Auckland’s Starship Hospital.
