Boy remains in critical condition

The nine-year-old boy injured in an accident at Taradale Primary School in Hawke’s Bay yesterday remains in a critical condition in Auckland’s Starship Hospital.

The boy was flown to Starship last night from Hawke’s Bay Regional Hospital.

Emergency services were called to the school at 1.15pm yesterday after the boy was found having difficulty breathing. Police have established the incident which resulted in the boy’s injuries was an accident.

Police are unable to confirm details of the incident until their investigation is finished later today.
