Water Rescue - Kawau Island

There was a boating incident that happened last night around 2300. Two males in a stabicraft boat hit rocks on the SE corner of Kawau Island. A mayday radio messgae was received at around 0500hrs this morning.

Multi agency response was started involving Police, Coastguard, and Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

The two males were uplifted in the early hours of this morning, one person was injured and taken to hospital. The boat is still on the roacks.
