Witnesses wanted for crash in Taumarunui

Witnesses wanted for speeding vehicle that crashed in Taumarunui

On the 24th of July 2015 at approximately 3.20p.m, a four door Ford Laser motor vehicle coloured silver, has been driven at speed on Turaki Street, Taumarunui.

A short time later the same vehicle was seen travelling at speed on State Highway four, heading south from Taumarunui.

Approximately three kilometres south of Taumarunui, the vehicle has turned left into Miro Street, Mananui, where it has lost control and collided with a power pole.

The lone passenger was transported to Taumarunui Hospital by emergency staff and later transferred to Waikato Hospital by Air Ambulance with serious injuries.

Taumarunui Police are seeking witnesses who may have seen the four door Ford Laser coloured silver driving at speed through Taumarunui or along State highway Four towards Mananui on the 24th of July between 3.20p.m and 3.30p.m.
