Palmerston North Police seek to identify would-be burglars

Palmerston North Police seek to identify would-be burglars

Central District Police are investigating two attempted burglaries of business premises in Palmerston North this week.

The first incident occurred at the Birdcage bar in Terrace End at 10.30pm on Saturday 29 October.
The second occurred at the Caltex in Roslyn at 5.30am on Monday 31 October.

In both incidents, the premises were closed and locked securely at the time and the offenders were unable to enter.

However, Police would like still to identify the people involved in the attempted burglaries.

“This situation ended a lot better than it could have, which goes to show that appropriate security features can really act as a deterrent and preventative measure, “ says Detective Dave Wilson.

“Simple things such as ensuring your premises are securely locked, having working CCTV cameras, as well as a working alarm when your business is closed, all contribute to deterring potential burglars.”

If you have information you think might help identify the offenders involved in these incidents, please contact Palmerston North police on 06 351 3600.
Information can also be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
