John Lindsay Named New Chair Of New Zealand Chambers Of Commerce And Industry
At their June Board meeting in Wellington yesterday, New Zealand Chambers of Commerce and Industry elected Auckland Chamber President John Lindsay to serve as their National Chairman. Mr Lindsay succeeds prominent Wellington businessman and Massey University Chancellor Nigel Gould, who has led the national Chambers body since late 2000.

He is currently a Director of a number of public and private companies operating in New Zealand and Australia, including Ports of Auckland Ltd, Americas Cup Village Ltd and Donaghys Ltd and Chairman of Holcim (New Zealand) Ltd. Mr Lindsay is also a Director of the New Zealand Rugby Union Board.
"On behalf of the NZCCI Management Committee, my colleagues and I would like to warmly thank Nigel for his excellent chairmanship over the past three years, and to wish John all the best going forward" said NZCCI Management Committee Chair Philip Lewin.
Mr Gould's successor as Central Region representative on the nine-member NZCCI Board is Wellington Regional Chamber Vice President Simon Arnold. Other Board members are Steve Brocklebank (Otago), David Halstead (Canterbury), Anne Pankhurst (Tauranga) and Chamber CEOs Michael Barnett (Auckland), Philip Lewin (Wellington), Peter Townsend (Canterbury) and John Christie (Otago).
