Good Morning off the air again

December 16, 2005

Media Release

Second strike at Avalon

Good Morning off the air again

Staff at TVNZ’s Avalon studio in Wellington are off the job again as their pay dispute continues.

Sixty technical and production workers who are members of the Public Service Association and the Engineering, Printing and Manufacturing Union walked out at 9am today, taking the lifestyle programme Good Morning off the air again.

It is their second strike this week. They are expected to return to work at 10am.

The workers are seeking a five per cent pay rise and want the company to address problems arising from their long hours of work.

The state broadcaster is offering them a settlement which equates to a 3.6 per cent pay rise.
