Telecom lets business down – yet again!

27 August 2007

Media Release

Telecom lets business down – yet again!

The collapse of Telecom’s land line-to-mobile service today is inexcusable.

“Once again, Telecom has let business down,” said Auckland Chamber of Commerce chief executive, Michael Barnett.

“There has been no explanation and no communication to business customers, leaving them to find out when expected calls don’t happen or fail.”

For small-medium businesses especially, the mobile phone is a basic tool of doing business. “If the phone system is not operating, it can mean the business is losing customers and revenue.”

This is the second time in a fortnight that Telecom has let business down. There needs to be some explanation of what’s going wrong and something done to get a reliable system up and running.
