Flicks new iPhone app
The
Flicks.co.nz iPhone App goes straight to number on the NZ
iTunes Apps list.
Local movie website Flicks.co.nz has just launched two
products making its service one hundred percent mobile. New
Zealanders can now watch movie trailers, find session times,
read reviews and check cinema details all from their mobile
phone.
Flicks.co.nz
teamed up with Smudge Apps to launch the Flicks iPhone App,
which offers an enhanced platform for iPhone and iPod Touch
users. Within its first few days of release it shot to the
top of the iTunes store's Top Apps list. It's number one
right now.
Flicks.co.nz
Managing Director Paul Scantlebury says, "The App's instant
success is great, and proves that people have been ready and
waiting to get our publication direct to their
phones."
Also recently launched is the Flicks mobile
site – m.flicks.co.nz –
which offers this essential movie-going content to all
mobile phones with an internet connection.
Paul
Scantlebury says, "Partnering with Vodafone has helped us
realise the potential of taking our service mobile, making
it more accessible and convenient to use than
ever."
Vodafone Head of Media and Entertainment Charlie Clementson says, "Flicks.co.nz had to go mobile - it's a perfect fit. With Flicks' new site, , m.flicks.co.nz internet users get all the movie information they need to choose a movie to see, watch movie trailers, check session times, and read film reviews on your mobile wherever you are.
"Its great to have been able to help Flicks get
their mobile site up and running – over 25% of our
customers access the internet on their mobile every month
and so getting relevant, local content on their phones is
key."
Flicks.co.nz caters for two markets: firstly
‘film buffs’ who are highly involved with all things
filmic and love to read up on the latest news and debate the
issues. Secondly, it caters for those who simply want to
choose a movie to see and find out where and when to see it
without trailing through countless individual cinema
websites. It is the later that have demanded Flicks.co.nz
content on their mobile phone; and the demand has been huge.
Flicks.co.nz (http://http://www.flicks.co.nz)
is New Zealands most popular and comprehensive nationwide
movie publication with over 100,000 unique users every
month. It was started _4 years ago by a couple of film buffs
trying to make a living from watching movies.
Paul
Scantlebury says, “It's an exciting time for us and for
the industry. I wouldn’t be surprised if our mobile
content soon becomes as popular as our website.”
