Federated Farmers complaint against Michael Laws

Federated Farmers complaint against Michael Laws

Federated Farmers is happy that RadioLive’s Michael Laws, is being required to make a private and public apology to Mr & Mrs Fowlie. The apology follows a formal complaint the Federation lodged with Mediaworks.

“This was the kind of letter I sincerely wish that I had never been required to write, but clearly had to, as the Fowlie’s were in no position to respond at the time,” says Donald Aubrey, Federated Farmers health and safety spokesperson.

“The settlement goes in a very small way to recompense the Fowlie’s for the hurt they experienced as a result of Mr Laws on-air comments. Our response showed the Federation will not stand for the denigration of members when they are at their most vulnerable.

“Mediaworks response to our complaint demonstrates there are honourable people on its complaints committee. They have made the right decision in response to the unfair and hurtful nature of Mr Laws on-air comments.

” The Federation is hopeful that lessons have been learnt,” Mr Aubrey concluded.
