Stability for Wellington’s bus users to 2013

Stability for Wellington’s bus users to 2013

Today, workshop staff and bus operators at GO Wellington and bus operators at Valley Flyer voted to accept NZ Bus’s offer of two new Collective Employment Agreements.

The Wellington Tramways and Manufacturing and Construction Workers unions’ recommendation to their members to accept the company offer was accepted at the meeting where members met to consider the company’s offer.

“We are delighted to reach agreement for both our GO Wellington and Valley Flyer businesses,” says Zane Fulljames, Chief Operating Officer, NZ Bus. “This delivers a positive platform for the business, our people and for public transport users across the Wellington region.

“Negotiations have been very constructive,” says Mr Fulljames, when commenting on the relationship with the unions. “Both parties have sought to understand each others’ needs, and this has resulted in a positive platform for moving forward.”

“We now look forward to moving the business forward having achieved a positive outcome for our people, our customers and our business,” Mr Fulljames concludes.
