Araneo Wireless welcomes progress on Rural Broadband
'I think rural New Zealand can look forward to getting on with figuring out how they will use better broadband to improve how they live and work' says Nick Lourantos General Manager of Araneo Wireless, a Wellington based wireless broadband company commenting on the list of companies being invited to tender for the Governments Rural Broadband Initiative released today by the Government.
‘In the initiative released today we congratulate the Government for showing the leadership required to boost the productivity of the rural sector by facilitating effective communications for schools, businesses and the general population.
'Araneo specializes in taking broadband further so we are seeing a whole range of opportunities opening up with the RBI' says Lourantos 'We are already deliver the ability to extend fibre optic networks further and faster than they can be built allowing more people to enjoy better broadband'
Araneo has been extending the reach of fibre for sometime now and has provided services to a number of high profile ISP’s such TelstraClear and FX networks.
In a recent development Araneo is working with Chorus to deliver vastly improved broadband to Horokiwi by combining Araneo's high performance 'open access' backbone network with what is called 'sub-loop unbundling' of Chorus's copper local loop to be able to deliver improved broadband and a choice of ISP's that weren't previously available'
As Nick says 'This shows how we can work with any successful RBI tenderers to deliver better broadband anywhere in New Zealand - that's got to be a great outcome
