66% NZ Market Research Effectiveness Awards

Synovate New Zealand celebrates winning 66% of the 2010 NZ Market Research Effectiveness Awards

AUCKLAND – Market research company Synovate continued its proud tradition at the biennial New Zealand Market Research Effectiveness Awards last Friday, winning six of the nine awards awarded.

The awards were especially hotly contested this year, with a notably larger pool of entries and a wider variety of entering businesses – from one-man-bands through to major multinationals.

Synovate has a proud history at these awards. With 24 wins, the company has won more awards than any other company since the awards were established in 2000. But as Managing Director Ian Mills stated, “All that does is increase the pressure each year. We’re well aware of the calibre of our competitors and never for a moment assume we’re going to keep up such an impressive success rate.”

Synovate won the following categories:

The Supreme Award and the Consumer Services Award, for Synovate’s work helping Air New Zealand redesign its long haul product.

The Business to Business Award, for a project conducted for pharmaceutical company Astra Zeneca.

The Social and Community Award, for The Beijing Olympics debrief conducted for SPARC.

The Media and Advertising Award, for Synovate’s work with Ikon, helping Commonwealth Bank of Australia to improve its advertising design.

The Rookie of the Year Award, awarded to Joshua Buckley of Synovate.

Of Synovate’s Supreme Award winning project for Air New Zealand, the judges said it was “A large, multifaceted, multidisciplinary, collaborative research project that is demonstrably world-class in its purpose, inception and execution, and with great outcomes. The judges salute everyone involved in making Synovate/Air New Zealand the 2010 Infotools Supreme Award winner.”

MD Ian Mills points out that all entries are winners in their own right: “We never rest on our laurels but nor do we deliberately set out to do award-winning work. We just try to do our best for our clients and are rapt when they agree that our research has been so effective at helping them meet their objectives – that’s the real test. If the work wins an award that’s the cherry on top, but ultimately we’re answerable to our clients and we rely on good clients to do good research.”
