Saint Clair Family Estate Scores with Another Tri-Nations Win
The 2010 Tri-Nations Wine Challenge has proven to be a victory for Sauvignon Blanc from Saint Clair Family Estate for the third time.
The Tri-Nations Wine Challenge involves top quality wines from New Zealand, South Africa and Australia being tasted and assessed by a panel of judges from these three countries. The selection process to ascertain the very best from the best is unique, with wines only able to participate if they have been invited.
This year, it was the Saint Clair Pioneer Block 2 Swamp Block Sauvignon Blanc 2009 that was awarded the trophy for the Champion Sauvignon Blanc, selected from the 30 different Sauvignon Blanc wines invited to attend the competition. This is no new achievement for Saint Clair Family Estate, following champion Sauvignon Blanc success in the Tri-Nations Wine Challenge in 2009 and 2007 - a tremendous result from the family-owned Marlborough winery.
Julie Grono (ex Ibbotson) from Saint Clair Family Estate was at the presentation event at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney on Friday evening to collect the trophy from wine judge Huon Hook. Julie comments, “With people attending the presentation evening from all three nations, there was a real buzz of excitement surrounding the event. It was a true honour and great thrill to collect such a prestigious trophy on behalf of Saint Clair Family Estate. I am proud to be a part of such a terrific team of people.”
The results add to the ever-growing tally of trophies for the family-owned Marlborough winery, further acknowledging Saint Clair Family Estate as a leading New Zealand winery consistently producing world class wines.
