George FM Launches New Website

MediaWorks Interactive has launched the new georgefm.co.nz. Having acquired the station last year, it has been the intention for MediaWorks to redevelop the George FM website and now that plan is live.

The new website launch follows the radio station recently being up-powered on the new 96.6 Auckland frequency. George is looking to be more useful and more fun to more people.

"George FM is a real individual and we wanted the new site to be able to solve many of the problems the audience had with the previous site, it is what George would want us to do," notes Siobhan McKenna, Director of MediaWorks Interactive.

Newly added features include Love What the DJ Just Played? which is available at www.georgefm.co.nz/playlist Listeners can also catch up on entire show playlists. Other features include:

— Simple Streaming, easily listen to George FM anytime and anywhere online using our Flash audio stream (no more ShoutCast/RealPlayer!).
— Stay on the pulse with latest music and event news.
— Watch what George loves and what you will love too in our George TV section.
— View and post on past events in the Pics section.
— George promises advertisers a good time too - commitment to creative and effective advertising opportunities is central to what George is about.
— Stay in the loop with your favourite DJs, see what they're up and listen to their latest mixes on their show page.
— Listen to George FM's new music podcast, The Jump, guiding you through the big tunes of now.

Operations Manager for George FM, Tom Martin is enthusiastic about the new site: “It's now a forum for people who are passionate about George to really interact and find the content they've been looking for, such as the independent work ours DJs do, as well as the terrific work they do on George."

"The design and development team have done a really great job and now it's about what the fans of George think, so we hope they let us know," McKenna adds.
