Subject: EDGEWATER RESORT the first resort to FLASHMOB in the PACIFIC
A flash mob (or FLASHMOB ) is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual and pointless act for a brief time, then disperse. The term flash mob is generally applied only to gatherings organized via telecommunications, social media, or viral emails. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_mob
YouTUBE is the platform that the public access a FLASHMOB with this alternative form of online marketing reaching mass quickly and effectively showing the true power of viral campaigns
The Edgewater Resort and Spa took a hold of this concept and created the very first Pacific outdoor FLASH MOB on the 7th of November launching its new viral campaign – WE FRESH.
The concept came from the marketing team and was designed to show the fresh and fun approach of the Resort. The team at the Edgewater choreographed and taught the routine to all staff and interested groups. Telecom Cook Islands partnered with the Resort to not only learn the dance routine but for 3 weeks leading up to the event sent out text messages to random people inviting them to come and FLASHMOB at the Edgewater Resort and Spa.
The real fun lies in no one knows when the FLASHMOB will happen and although some visitors to the Resort knew about the event many of the guests didn’t resulting in them either joining in on the fun or sitting watching in sheer amazement. Watch the clip on Youtube and you will see what we mean.
The FLASHMOB coincided with the end of the Sevens in Heaven competition which sees many 7’s teams utilise Edgewater as the 7’s zone for accommodation.
