Greymouth Petroleum boosts management team

Greymouth Petroleum boosts management team

Feb. 7 (BusinessDesk) – Greymouth Petroleum Ltd. is making three senior management appointments that it says reflect its need for greater depth to pursue opportunities in both New Zealand and Chile.

Best-known locally among the new appointments will be Steve Cross, whose last full-time role was as chief executive of New Zealand Windfarms Ltd., and before that head of retail electricity and wholesale gas trading at Contact Energy Ltd.

Cross will be Greymouth’s general manager, based in Auckland, responsible for exploration and resource appraisal and for market activities.

Also appointed is Ewan McLeod, a former Shell executive with extensive international experience, who has also acted as Treasurer for Shell Todd Oil Services in New Zealand and was involved in gas strategy at Shell New Zealand. McLeod becomes general manager of public and corporate affairs, responsible for government relations, corporate governance, health, safety and environmental strategic planning, public and joint venture issues, compliance assurance, and emergency response.

Greymouth has also snaffled another senior international executive from Shell, Marcellus Lensvelt, who will become general manager for Taranaki, responsible for operational delivery of Greymouth’s petroleum production and exploration activities. Lensvelt has worked in the Middle East, Canada and extensively Latin America, including management roles in Shell’s Argentina, Peru, Bolivia and Brazil operations, and was most recently based in Kazakhstan.
