NZX CFO departs after less than a year

March 4 (BusinessDesk) – NZX Ltd.’s chief financial officer Justin Bgoni has left after less than a year with the stock exchange operator.
Bgoni, who didn’t feature on the company’s website page on the management team, has gone to pursue a career in another industry, the company said in a statement. The low profile CFO joined the NZX on Apr. 22 last year, and hasn’t made any official statement on behalf of the company since.
He had previously been CFO to South African investment company Rasai Holdings, when NZX bought and sold-back a stake in Bond Exchange of South Africa, and was also an alumni of McKinsey & Co., a previous employer of chief executive Mark Weldon.
Bgoni’s role will be subsumed by the growing responsibility of Fiona Mackenzie, who was tapped last week to become NZX’s head of strategy, overseeing the bourse operator’s finances, new business opportunities and investor relations.
Mackenzie has had a rapid rise since joining the bourse operator in 2009 to head up the Auckland office and set up the NZX’s futures and commodities products. Last year, she replaced long-serving head of markets and Weldon’s number two, Geoff Brown.
The shares were unchanged at $1.85 in trading today.
