Botany Town Centre Further Expands Service and Retail Offer

Following the announcement of its $6.5 million project to develop the Fountain Lane North precinct, Botany Town Centre is continuing to expand its retail and service offer with new additions HSBC Premier Centre, Divine Beauty Clinic & Spa and 2 Cheap.

Other changes at the centre include the relocation of popular local eatery Ronnie’s Café to a larger corner location in Garden Lane, Muffin Break taking centre stage in the Conservatory, and the reopening of fashion-forward menswear retailer Loft in Fountain Lane North later this month.

Botany Town Centre senior marketing manager Desiree Clark says Botany Town Centre aims to be a retail leader and all-round service provider, offering the latest eateries, specialty stores and brands in one convenient location. “We are thrilled to welcome these new stores to the centre and hope our shoppers will enjoy discovering what they have to offer. These desirable retailers and services continue to expand our range and have a unique offering which appeals to everyone in the family.”

The May opening of the new HSBC Premier Centre in Market Square was attended by MP for Botany Jami-Lee Ross and HSBC New Zealand CEO David Griffiths. As part of HSBC’s global network of Premier Centres, the bank will offer transactional banking, tailored banking services, and staff fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin.

John Barclay, head of retail banking and wealth management at HSBC, says, “Being in Botany Town Centre will make it easier for our customers to do their banking and shopping at the same time.”

Those seeking a bit of rest and relaxation need look no further than Divine Beauty Clinic & Spa, now open in Fountain Lane South. Owner and local Botany resident Echo Chen had been seeking to expand her business and was pleased to establish her second clinic at Botany Town Centre.

“There is a great selection of retail on offer at Botany Town Centre and the open plan layout makes it an enjoyable place to visit. As I live in Botany Downs, I am very familiar with the area and thought this would be the ideal place to establish a new business.”

The indoor-outdoor flow and relaxed environment of Botany Town Centre is key to its appeal for many retailers. Ronnie’s Café owner Dwayne Hancock, Muffin Break proprietor Charlie Yu, and Jimmy Chen, the founder and owner of Loft, are all relocated retailers who believe the contemporary township design makes for a more comfortable shopping atmosphere that customers find inviting.

Mr Chen says, “Botany offers a relaxed and comfortable shopping environment. This is a good fit with the Loft brand and menswear style we offer, which is easy-going and stylish. We look forward to reopening in Fountain Lane North and being alongside some well-known, high-end brand boutiques.”

The relocation of Ronnie’s Café to Garden Lane has been a successful move for the popular eatery, which has hired more staff to service the increased capacity. Mr Hancock says, “The relocation has given us double-front exposure and increased seating capacity. We can now seat approximately 100 customers, both indoor and outdoor, with a children’s play area close by.

“We are pleased with the relocation, which has given us a fresh start and brand-new facilities. Our staff and customers are delighted with it. Some of our customers were worried Ronnie’s Café had left altogether, and though it’s nice to know we were missed, it’s even better to be back.”
