Good value accommodation for the Rugby World Cup
How to know good value accommodation for the Rugby World Cup 2011 in NZ
The 2011 Rugby World Cup is being held in New Zealand from 9 September to 23 October 2011.
Auckland hotels will be fully occupied with the final being played at Eden Park.
As with anything you decide to do a little research often pays dividends and a good way to do research on hotels or motels is to read up on the reviews submitted by guests who have previously stayed there. These reviews are unbiased and are often good measure of what you can expect from for your stay. It is not necessary to read every review placed for the hotel simply try and estimate an average by looking at the 1- 5 star value placed.
5 star = Excellent
experience
4 star = Great value for money
3 Star =
Value for money
2 star = Below average
1 star =
Poor
It is important to understand online reviews placed using a 5 star rating system should not be confused with a star rating of the accommodation provider whether it be Qualmark or self-assessed.
New Zealand favors the Qualmark system for hotel and motel accommodation and has a star grading for accommodation from 1- 5 stars. The general description would be as follows:
The highest standard is 5 stars and is considered to be amongst the best in that country.
3 stars and the accommodation provider provides a range of facilities and services and achieves a good to very good quality standard.
Basic acceptance is that a 1 star will meet the customers' minimum requirements - Basic, clean, and comfortable.
Some New Zealand providers are "self-rated". This however is a subjective assessment and would not have the same quality controls as with the Qualmark system .
