South Auckland businesses hope for a tasty offering at food show

Nine south Auckland niche food companies will serve up their boutique wares and draw attention to the area’s growing food industry at next week’s Food Show in Auckland.

Pokeno Bacon and Sunset Free Range Poultry will feature the kiwi favourite ‘bacon and eggs’ through a Taste of the Country themed stall while the Clevedon Village Farmers Market stall will showcase Clevedon Valley Buffalo Company, Oh Fudge Limited, Culley’s Chilli, Bagel Love, River Estate Olive Oil, Kipdale Organic Chicken and Shadie Stables.

Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development has partnered with the companies to promote their product at the annual event, which last year attracted more than 40,000 people.

Manager Business Development – South, Yvette Hellyer believes the four day event is well placed to promote south Auckland’s bustling food and beverage industry.

“There are some amazing artisan food companies throughout south Auckland. The Food Show will provide some of these businesses exposure to key supply chains, markets and contacts,” says Ms Hellyer.

“Getting in front of consumer and industry markets at will create growth opportunities for the individual businesses as well as the overall sector in south Auckland.

“For emerging businesses, the Food Show offers the chance to access new revenue streams, gain potential export orders, new customers and increase sales; as well as a meeting place for suppliers to source new product and meet with growers and producers.”

Visit the exhibiting south Auckland businesses at stands 122 to 125 and 282 the Food Show Auckland from 28 to 31 July at the ASB Showgrounds, Greenlane.
