TOMS Launch in New Zealand

ONE FOR ONE TOMS Launch in New Zealand

TOMS is more than just a brand – it’s a movement that is revolutionising the way we shop.

TOMS has been gaining momentum across the globe, and it’s now launching in New Zealand. The premise behind TOMS is that for every pair of TOMS Shoes you buy, TOMS will provide a pair of new shoes to a child in need – ‘One for One’, every time.

It’s a way of working that benefits everyone: TOMS is a fully operating, profitable business that is contributing to the economy; you leave with a cool new pair of shoes; and you provide a pair of shoes to a child in need. It’s as simple as that, with no exceptions!

Since its launch in 2006, TOMS have graced the feet of celebrities such as Mila Kunis, Bradley Cooper, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Alba, Kristen Bell, Charlize Theron, Chris Pine and many more. It’s a fashion trend that’s far from a fad!

In that time, TOMS has also provided more than two million pairs of shoes to children in need, in communities all over the world. Now, the TOMS Shoes range is launching in New Zealand so Kiwis can be part of the movement.

John Elliott, General Manager of TOMS Australasia, is excited to bring TOMS to New Zealand, saying: “Our One for One promise is something that I think Kiwis will relate to. It shows that companies don’t have to be selfish – that there can be a bigger reason for being than profit alone.”

“I think New Zealanders are going to really embrace the concept of TOMS Shoes. It doesn’t hurt that they look awesome, either!”

In association with programmes run by TOMS’ Giving Partners, new shoes given to children in need protect the child’s feet from cuts, infections and diseases. A pair of shoes can enable a child to attend school and instil confidence in them – it shows the child that they are important. TOMS works with more than 75 Giving Partners around the world, who share the needs they see on the ground in each country.

The beauty of TOMS is that it is not reliant on donations – which are notoriously difficult to extract. People all over the world buy TOMS because they like them – just like they would buy any other pair of shoes. Except with TOMS, that purchase makes a positive difference and impact on one’s life.
