New World Howick Development Underway

Foodstuffs North Island Limited is pleased to announce commencement of the development of a New World supermarket in Howick on the corner of Union Rd and Wellington Street.

“The construction of a New World in Howick is very exciting for us,” says Angela Bull, Foodstuffs North Island General Manager Property Development. “We have been endeavouring to bring New World back to Howick for some years. We look forward to bringing the people of Howick more supermarket choice and competition. The demolition of the buildings currently occupying the site has just started with construction of the New World building likely to commence in early 2014.”

New World Howick will have a gross floor area of 3,484m2 including mezzanine offices, plant room and an enclosed loading dock. The total site area is approximately 1.25 hectares and the customer car park will provide 161 car parks and be accessible from both Union Rd and Wellington Street.

The New World building will be of a high and modern design which will significantly enhance the amenity and character of the site and enable customers to do all their grocery shopping in a safe and convenient environment.

A confirmed opening date for New World Howick will be announced closer to the time.
