‘Found’ – a lost dog poster for the digital age

PEDIGREE® ‘Found’ – a lost dog poster for the digital age

The fear of losing your dog is one that is universal to all dog owners but smartphones may now hold the key to finding lost dogs - by outrunning them with digital ads.

If you lose your dog, every second counts. On 15 April, PEDIGREE®, with the help of Google and Colenso BBDO, will unveil a project that uses new technology to help reunite dog owners with their pets.

If a dog goes missing, every second counts. Now, users of the PEDIGREE Found app can send out a real time digital message if they lose their dog, personalised with their dog’s photo and information, to people within a 2.5 kilometre (1.5 mile) radius over a 24 hour period. The messages are sent in place of the ads that would normally appear on the recipient’s smartphone. A push notification is also sent to people who have opted in on the app.

By instantly sharing their dog’s information to people who are online in the immediate area, and thus the most likely to be able to help, there is more chance a lost dog will be found before they get too far.

To do this, owners need to pre-register their dog on the ‘PEDIGREE Found’ app. To get this free app, just search for ‘PEDIGREE Found’ on the Google Play Store or the App store.
