Infometrics launch web-based community demographic profiles

Infometrics launches web-based community demographic profiles

Infometrics are pleased to announce the launching of complimentary web-based Community Profiles for every territorial authority and region of New Zealand.

The Community Profiles are a tool for visualising a broad range of demographic data from the Census in an interactive web-based framework. The profiles enable users to view data for their district down to area unit level. Users can also compare each area unit against other area units, its parent territorial authority or region, and the New Zealand total.

Infometrics Senior Economist, Benje Patterson says “The Community Profiles can help public organisations identify community needs, develop long-term strategic plans, and allocate financial resources to where they are needed most. Businesses in regional New Zealand can also use the Profiles to help guide decision making processes.

“Our aim is to deliver regional and industry-specific economic and demographic data to users in a dynamic and interactive framework which is sympathetic to a wide range of user needs.”

A document containing links to each Community Profile is available here.

Infometrics is a privately owned company that provides regional and industry-specific economic and demographic information to local authorities, development agencies, and industry groups through user-friendly data visualisation systems.

Patterson says “We hope that the complimentary Community Profiles will raise awareness of our company’s work in the space of regional and industry-specific economics and demographics, as well as demonstrate the benefits of investing in user-friendly regional data visualisation systems.”

Aside from the Community Profiles, Infometrics has developed a range of web-based economic profiles and tools to paying subscribers, which include various local authorities, development agencies, and industry groups.
