ADInstruments Brazil welcomes New Zealand Trade Delegation

The Brazil office of ADInstruments, a world leader in data acquisition solutions for life sciences, has today welcomed the New Zealand Science and Innovation Minister Stephen Joyce and the New Zealand Consul General and Trade Commissioner in Brazil, Ralph Hays.

New Zealand’s ADInstruments, has a network of 12 offices and distributors in more than 80 countries around the world. From its São Paulo office it services the huge Latin America market.

Established in Dunedin in 1988, ADInstruments developed the original, high performance digital data acquisition and analysis systems for Life Science. The products, including PowerLab, LabChart and LabTutor, enable users to record and analyze life science data quickly and efficiently, whether it is to further their academic or private industry research, or to advance understanding of scientific concepts in biomedical classrooms.

ADInstruments, Chief Marketing Officer, Julie Curphey says the potential for the company’s Special Education services is huge. The region has 249 medical schools, and there are more than 1,500 courses focusing on health. ADInstruments has 21% market penetration, so she believes there’s still plenty of room for growth.

Stephen Joyce and the New Zealand Consul General and Trade Commissioner in Brazil, Ralph Hays visited ADInstruments as part of the Minister’s trade and education visit in São Paulo. They met with local staff and discussed how the company was facing the challenge of developing its research and education business in Brazil. Minister Joyce visited the Dunedin head office of ADInstruments last year.

Mr Hays said New Zealand companies had a reputation for innovation and creativity.

“ADInstruments is a great example of this innovation and creativity, combining the classic kiwi characteristics of ingenuity and technical know-how to create a cutting edge solution for people and businesses around the world.”
