The Wind In The Willows Features Outdoors in
September
There won’t be much set building needed for Tim Bray Productions’ latest children’s theatre show, The Wind In The Willows, takes place in and on Takapuna’s Lake Pupuke.
Tim Bray Productions presents The Wind In The Willows during the September school holidays from 26 September to 8 October.
The play, adapted from the classic children’s story written by Kenneth Grahame, will start at The PumpHouse outdoor amphitheatre and the audience will follow the action to the side of Lake Pupuke where Toad, Mole, Ratty, Otter and Badger will emerge from boats on the lake and from amongst the plantings in this picturesque park.
“We wanted to do something a little bit special with this beautiful story,” says producer and director Tim Bray.
“It’s springtime and we felt that setting The Wind In The Willows outside was the perfect way to really bring the story to life.”
Tim says the story is based on the Kenneth Grahame book, “but with a kiwi twist”.
The Wind In The Willows is the second in a series of professional children’s theatre productions presented by Tim Bray Productions in 2005 and follows the July production of HanS Up!. In December, The Santa Claus Show will return to The PumpHouse stage.
The Wind In The Willows is at The PumpHouse outdoor amphitheatre, Killarney Park, Takapuna, Auckland from 26 September to 8 October at 10.30am and 12.30pm with a Gala Opening on Sunday 25 September at 4.30pm. Tickets $16.90 each, family of four $62; gala tickets $19.90. A booking fee may apply. To book, phone (09) 489-8360 or online at www.tix.co.nz.
