Keen interest in domain name auction

While TeamNZ is returning from Valencia empty handed, it did not prevent considerable interest in last evening's auction on Trademe for the domain name NZAmericasCup.com.

The listing price was $5,000 and by the time the auction closed at 9.00pm there had been over 3,000 views with 90 people watching.  The last bid was $30,100 however this did not meet reserve.

To ensure that anyone interested can purchase the name this time, the sale has been relisted today on Trademe starting at $30,100 and with no reserve.

A spokesman for the syndicate owning the name says "we believe that this domain name, in the right hands, has the ability to attract many repeat visits from the world's 'movers and shakers' making it an ideal advertising portal. This not only applies to the boat design and building industry but also New Zealand's food products and specialist manufactured goods."

The auction is scheduled to close at 9.00pm on Wednesday (11th).
