New ENZA sponsorship kick starts countdown to 2012 Olympics for women's beach volleyball team

New Zealand's number one women's beach volleyball team, Anna Scarlett and Susan Blundell, will have the support of one of the world's most recognised fruit brands when they take to the sand this summer.

The new sponsorship agreement with ENZA provides Anna and Susan, who will be known as Team ENZA, with support for their international campaign which includes playing on the FIVB (International Federation of Volleyball) Beach Volleyball World Tour from March 2008.

The tour will take Team ENZA to North America, Europe and Asia and will be an important part of their drive to qualify for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

"We're New Zealand number one at the moment but to get to the Olympics you have to be in top 24 in the world. So actually making the Olympics is a massive achievement, but one that we're both aiming high for," says Anna.

Team ENZA partner Susan Blundell says the ENZA sponsorship will provide valuable support in the Olympics buildup.

"We've got a tough but exciting road ahead and we're thrilled to have the support of ENZA - a uniquely New Zealand brand that is known around the world."

ENZA is a Turners & Growers brand and one of the most respected in the international produce business. It is recognised as the number one premier pipfruit brand globally and is associated with leading apple varieties including New Zealand's top export apple 'Jazz' - one of the newest and most popular apple varieties on world markets.

New Zealand January 2008 TEAM ENZA play schedule:

January 8-9 Mount Maunganui

January 12-13 Wellington (Oriental Bay)

January 18-20 ASB Tennis Centre, Auckland
